Brad A. Moews

Danville – Brad A. Moews, 55, of Danville, IL, passed away at 9:48 PM on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, FL.

Brad was born on May 23, 1970, the son of Albert “Gene” and Sharon (Dawes) Moews in Danville, IL. He married his high school sweetheart “his Bride”, Barb Shumaker, on August 10, 1991. They spent 39 wonderful years together. She survives.

He is survived by the love of his life, Barb Moews, two amazing children, Tyler (Erika) Moews of Fithian, IL and Katie (Jared) Abrahamson of Paxton, IL; two granddaughters, Emma and Annaliese Moews; two siblings, Brian (Diane) Moews and Brenda (Frank) Doster; his father and mother-in-law, Tom and Linda Shumaker; Brother-in-Law, Rob Shumaker; one niece, Kortney (Matt) Foreman; two nephews, Eric (Ashley) Wiesemann and Josh Wiesemann; lifelong friend Brad Leaver and his buddy, Billy Carlton.

Brad is preceded in death by his parents along with Aunt Sandy (Uncle Mick) Heffern and Aunt Ginger Applegate.

Brad worked at Stewart Grain Elevator in Bismarck, IL before beginning his passion of owning and operating Moews Farms and Hayloft Feeds. He took great pride in the quality of his alfalfa and operation.

Brad’s life was centered around his family, especially his wife and kids. He was always in the stands and on the golf course, cheering on his kids when playing sports. Brad took such great pride in his kids and their accomplishments. He knew Tyler was a wonderful father and provider for his family. He was excited to see the life he and Erika were creating together with their own kids. His face would light up when Emma would show up to the farm and ask Papa for a tractor ride. He couldn’t wait for Annaliese to be his next buddy seat partner. When his sweet Katie got married, he gained a bonus son with Jared. He was everything Brad wanted for his daughter and knew one day when he wasn’t here, she would be loved the way her dad loved her mom. Brad will be remembered as a loving, devoted husband, father, papa, brother and friend.

Brad and his family spent many summers at various ballparks, such as Fenway Park, Wrigley Field and Busch Stadium. He especially loved the time being Family of the Game at Wrigley. He worked hard so that they could enjoy family vacations.

Together, Brad and Barb went on numerous vacations over the years, traveling to many different countries becoming quite the world travelers. He looked forward to the winter months traveling with his “lovey”. They enjoyed ice skating in Rockefeller Center, long walks on the beaches of Hawaii and cruising through the Panama Canal and the Caribbean. He may never have known where he was going, but it didn’t matter as long as Barb was happy and they were together.

Brad loved life and always lit up the room with the stories he shared. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Bears fan - as Brad said, there is always next year. He was the person you could count on when you needed him. Brad will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
