Bonnie Lou Crawford, 90, of Danville, passed away at 7:10pm, Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Provena USMC, Danville. She was born on September 6, 1921, in Crawfordsville, IN, the daughter of Ordell and Iona (Cartwright) Yount. She was united in marriage to Franklin Crawford on December 31, 1938, in Covington, IN, until his passing in 1991. She is survived by: her daughter, Sandy (Jay) Jones of Danville; her grandchildren, Chuck (Maureen) Crawford of Georgetown, Kris (James) King of Danville, Tracy (Eric) Jordan of Westville, Doug (Salena) Jones of Westville, & Eric Franklin (Amanda) Crawford of Peoria; her twelve great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her son, Garry L. Crawford; her great granddaughter, Gracie Jones; her two brothers, Charles and her two sisters, Deloris & Alice. In her early years, Bonnie worked at Montgomery Wards retiring in 1972 after several years. She attended Central park Christian Church. Bonnie also served as past President of the Westville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #51. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, camping, & traveling. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, August 27, 2012, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Kevin Cox officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to service at the funeral home. Westville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #51 will conduct a ceremony at 11:30am. She will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in Bonnie's name to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
