Danville- Bonnie L. Makemson, 71, of Danville went to be with Jesus at 7:25 AM on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born on June 2, 1940 in Blount Township. She was the daughter of Ray H. and Nellie L. (Marrow) Makemson. She will be missed by her friends and family. Surviving are her brothers Robert (Judy) Makemson and Barton (Angela Potter) Makemson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Bill, one sister Leone, a sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a close friend Harold Watson. Bonnie attended Crosspoints and lived at the Holiday House. She enjoyed singing, attending church, Bingo, and doing puzzles. She also enjoyed all the activities and friends at Vermilion Manor nursing home. Bonnie was a very happy person and enjoyed flowers and children. A special thanks to all the nurses and nurses aids that helped Bonnie in her time of need. A service to celebrate the life of Bonnie Makemson will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Kurt Darling will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Blount Township. Visitation will be from 9-11 AM prior to the service on Saturday, also at Sunset in Danville. Memorials in Bonnie's name may be made to the Activities Department at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home.
