Danville- Bonnie E. Dunbar, 66, of Danville passed away at 1:17 AM on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on February 26, 1947 in Pekin, IL to Alfred and Rachel Barringer Scurrah. She first married Donald D. McMasters on April 3, 1965. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1974. She then married Kenneth L. Dunbar on March 18, 1978. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2012. Surviving are six children, Deanna (Tye) Auter of Westville, Don (Nicole) McMasters of Westville, Kenneth (Julie) Dunbar of Oakwood, Harold (Stacy) Dunbar of Elmhurst, Daniel (Julie) Dunbar of St. Louis, MO, and Joseph W. (Kimberly) Dunbar of Tilton; a brother, Michael (Amber) Boothe of Westville; grandchildren, Donald "DJ" Nourie, Stefanie Nourie, Paige McMasters, Donald McMasters, Valerie Jo (Brian) Adkins, PFC Aaron C. Dunbar, Kelly Elle Dunbar, Jillian Lee Dunbar, Marc Anthony Dunbar, Bryan Allan Dunbar, Austin Dunbar, Dustin Hacker, Kristian Hayden, Shelby Claypool, Brittany Auter, and Amber Auter; great-grandchildren, Jerrick, Josslyn, Jyllian, and Jameson Adkins, and Zaylen Hayden; mother-in-law Mary McMasters; and special friends, Jerry and Carol Whiles, Steve Nourie, Martha Burch, and Linda Lynn. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, and three half sisters. Bonnie earned her Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Illinois University and worked at Shick's Supply where she had been for the last 29 years. She was very active with the Catlin United Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge. Bonnie especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and attending their various events. She was especially devoted to helping others when they needed it, providing rides and care for her grandkids and close friends. Bonnie also enjoyed shopping, music, and dancing. A service to celebrate the life of Bonnie Dunbar will be held at 10 AM on Monday, May 6, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Janet Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-6 PM on Sunday, May 5, also at Sunset in Danville. Memorials may be made to Catlin United Methodist Church or Santas Anonymous in Westville.
