Bobby L. McDaniel 86 of Grape creek, passed away at 6:45 am Monday September 2, 2013 in Danville with his family by his side. He was born September 29, 1926 in Danville, the son of Orville L. and Opal Mae (Ross) McDaniel. He married Evalyn Farrell on July 16, 1950 in Danville, she survives. The couple shares five children: Clifford McDaniel of Madrid NM, Opal Marie (William) Cronkhite of Danville, Jeffrey (Billie Jo) McDaniel Sr. of Westville, Dennis (Brenda) McDaniel of Catlin, and the late Bobby Jo McDaniel. They also share four grandchildren: Wayne (Lisa) Cronkhite, James (Jill) McDaniel, Kevin (Jenny) McDaniel, & Jeffrey (Wendy) McDaniel; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by: two brothers, Glen and Charles McDaniel; three sisters, Annabelle Atwood, Imogene Atwood and Opal May Trapp. He was preceded by: his parents; two grandchildren, James Lyn Cronkhite and Dustin lee McDaniel; four brothers, Jim, Orville, William and Norman McDaniel; and one sister, Lulubelle Holycross. Bobby went to school in Hawbuck and he served as a private in the US Army and a WWII Veteran. Bobby retired from General Motors in 1976 with 30 years of service. When his boys were younger, he coached little league baseball in Westville. Bobby was a Cardinals fan, enjoyed volunteering at Forest Glen preserve were he loved to walk the trails. He loved to fish, hunt, mushroom hunting, tinkering around the house and spending time with his family. A celebration of Bobbys life will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday September 6, 2013 at Sunset-Urbas Chapel in Westville. Visitation will be 12 to 2pm on Friday prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Tilton. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the American Heart Association or Forrest Glen Preserve.
