Blanche Marie Springer

Danville – Blanche Marie Springer, 85, of Danville passed away at 10:30 PM on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Hawthorne Inn of Danville. She was born on January 15, 1940, in Westville to Earl and Naomi (Grovier) Harris. She married Joseph Springer on July 10, 1960, in Georgetown. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2022.

She is survived by two children, Joan (Kent) Janesky of Danville and Brett Springer of Covington; daughter in law, Angie Springer of Covington; six grandchildren, Erik (Megan) Janesky, Ali (Ben) Kramer, Blake (Aida) Janesky, Gabi Springer, Calvin Springer, and Shea Springer; four great grandchildren, Jack, Mabel, Joey, and Emmy; and four siblings, Barb Stevens, Dorothy Newcomb, Bob (Lucy) Harris, and Rita Gibson.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and five siblings, Ronnie Harris, Louise Snyder, Ben Harris, Gary Harris, and Anita Lutz.

Blanche worked as a bank officer for several years before moving to OSI Accounting from where she retired. She and Joe loved to golf and spent many days together out on the links. She enjoyed playing bridge and always looked forward to the winters she and Joe would spend in Florida. Blanche was very active with Central Christian Church in Danville and would often volunteer to help cook and clean when needed. Most of all, she liked spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Blanche Springer will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville following cremation. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service on Saturday, also at Sunset in Danville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the DACC Scholarship Foundation in honor of the Joe Springer Memorial Scholarship or Central Christian Church in Danville.
