Blanche L. Cook, 95, of Georgetown passed away at 3:10 p.m. Thursday March 9, 2006 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village. She was born on June 2, 1910 in Danville, IL the daughter of John E. and Mary Jane Smith Dubre. She married Paul W. Cook on February 6, 1938 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1976. Survivors include: one son, Jerry (Linda) Cook of Yankton, S.D.; one daughter, Gloria (Harold) Nelson of Danville; four grandchildren, four step grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister. Blanche was a member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown. She was also a member of the Pleasant Meadows Auxiliary and the American Legion Womens Auxiliary. A celebration of Blanches life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday March 13, 2006 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home. Burial: Danville National Cemetery Officiating: Harry Walker. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday March 12, 2006 at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Pleasant Meadows Christian Village.
