Blake "Blakie" Aaron Whitlock, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at home in Hoopeston at the age of 40. Blakie was born on December 2, 1971 in Danville, IL the son of Blake W. Whitlock and Connie L. (Hogue) Whitlock of Westville. Survivors include: daughter, Aissa, four sons, Cole, Kyle Kaleb, Sebastian; two grandsons, Aiden & Dallas all of Westville; his parents, Blake W. Whitlock and Connie (Hogue) Whitlock, both of Westville; one sister, Tammie (Whitlock) Tetzloff of Hoopeston; three brothers, Brock Whitlock, Bryce Whitlock, and Bryne Whitlock all of Westville; a niece Lauren, three nephews, Kevin, Joshton, and Ethan; his ex-wife and friend Lisa (Richardson) Whitlock and many aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as many special friends who have offered support and concern for Blakie and his family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ruth and Max Whitlock & Lindell and Katherine Hogue and an Aunt Karen (Whitlock) Loden. Blakie grew up and went to school in Westville. His true loves in life were his kids, family, and friends, always holding a special love in his heart for his brother Brock. He had a passion for music and playing his guitars. He liked to fish, camp, mushroom hunt, play cards, and dice games. Blake had grown his hair long for donation to locks of love and was done per his wishes. He previously had successfully started and ran a NA group in Paris, IL with the help of Lisa and Courtney Sanders of Paris. Blake has been battling many health issues for the last six years and had been in failing health since last October. A memorial visitation will be held Friday April 20, 2012 from 1-4 p.m. at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel in Westville. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
