GEORGETOWN - Billy Ray Pearson Sr., 73, of Georgetown passed away at 7:47 p.m. Saturday February 25, 2006 at his home. He was born on February 19, 1933 in Ridge Farm, IL the son of Elza and Agusta Smith Pearson. He married Jean Ann Casillo on October 4, 1952 in rural Georgetown. She survives. Also surviving: three sons, Billy Ray Jr. (Sandy) Pearson of Georgetown, Dana Drew (Nancy) Pearson of Georgetown, and Scott Anthony Pearson of Georgetown; one daughter, Tonya Louise (Chris) Neubert of Georgetown; one brother, Richard Lee (Ruby) Pearson of Ridge Farm; two sisters, Patricia (Jack) Frattick of Danville and Linda (Dan) Hughes of Oakwood; twelve grandchildren; Ryan, Nick, Seth, Chezarae, Amber, Nathan, Ashley, Dustin, Danica, Tate, Preston, Kaloni; three great grandchildren, Ostin, Carson, and Haylee. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, and four sisters. Billy Ray graduated from Georgetown High School in 1952. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a fifty year member of the Carpenters Union Local #269.He was also a member of the Millwright Local #1051. Billy Ray was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses in Georgetown. He was a member of the Jaycees and was on the Georgetown School Board. Billy Ray was a very caring, sensitive, and tenderhearted man with a great sense of humor. He inspired us to remember the importance of a great love for family and friends. He was steadfast and never failed to lend a hand to someone in need. He loved a good laugh and could always be counted on to brighten any day. A celebration of Billy Rays life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 1, 2006 at Sunsets Houghton Leasure Funeral Home. Officiating will be Warren Elkin. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday February 28, 2006 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
