Billy N. Mahoney

Eugene, Ind. - Billy N. Mahoney, 85, of Eugene, passed away at 12 a.m. EST Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Union Hospital Clinton in Clinton, Indiana.

He was born August 14, 1932 in Georgetown, Illinois the son of the late Joseph and Ethel Lucy (Peters) Payne Mahoney.

Billy married Virginia E. Miller on June 4, 1977. She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Cindy (Bud) Acree; Terri (Tex) Sollars; Marsha Miller; Lucy Hardin; Billy J. Mahoney; Donny (Mary) Mahoney; Pam (Jesse) Reas; Cathey Pratt; Michael (Kathi) Mahoney; Bruce Allen; Anthony (Rebecca) Buss; Brenda (Richard) Strejc; Elizabeth (Dan) Scott and Richard Strejc; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Billy was preceded in death by his son, Brian K. Buss; Great Grandson, Brian Lee Michael Pratt, and numerous brothers and sisters.

Billy owned and operated Heartbreak Towing in Bolingbrook, Illinois retiring in 1993, and moving to Cayuga. He is a 1950 graduate of Georgetown High School. Billy enjoyed collecting small scale cars, musicals, woodworking, fishing and many sports. He was especially fond of watching his favorite team, the Chicago Cubs.

Memorial services: 8 p.m. EST Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Steve Crum; Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. EST Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the funeral home. Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. EST Tuesday, December 12, 2017 until time of services at the funeral home.
