Billy Moody

Billy "Bill" J. Moody, 83 of Danville passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana, IL.

Bill was born on June 24, 1941 in Georgetown, IL the son of Kenneth and Hazel (Kuykendall) Moody. He married Kathleen "Kay" Grosso on September 23, 1961 in Westville, IL and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen "Kay" Moody, two sons; John (Chris) Moody of Kingman, AZ, Darren (Jackie) Moody of Westville, IL, two granddaughters; Taylor (Joe) Crose of Westville, IL and Danielle (Tyler) Ecklund of Las Vegas, NV, as well as four great granddaughters; Vivian, Naomi, Natalie Crose and Isla Ecklund.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Moody.

Bill was a member of St Marys Catholic Church in Westville, IL and worked for General Motors as a Millwright for 30 years and retired from M&H Equipment after 12 years. Bill spent his younger years active in track and football and enjoyed hunting. Bill also obtained his black belt in Judo and Karate and spent time working as a Judo Instructor. He and Kay spent many years actively owning horses, taking many weekend trail rides and attending horse shows. His later time was spent enjoying weekend trips with his wife and time spent with family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Father Sauppe will officiate. Burial will be in St Peter and St Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the funeral home.
