Billy Joe Broady

Indianapolis, Ind. - Billy Joe Broady, 89, of Indianapolis and formerly of Newport, passed away at 2:31 p.m. EST Friday, December 20, 2019 at his residence.

He was born October 12, 1930 the son of the late Thelma R. Grady (Anderson) and William S. Broady.

He married Marianne Moore on July 8, 1951 in Quaker, Indiana and she preceded him in death July 10, 2010.

Survivors include his daughter: Kelly Jo (Dave) Childers of Greenwood, Indiana and his granddaughter: Kristen Ann Broady of Indianapolis, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Joe graduated from Newport High School. After graduation, he went on to serve honorably in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955. Joe worked as an inspector for Parker Hannifin in Indianapolis until his retirement. He was a member and past commander of the Newport American Legion Post #184. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Funeral service: Noon EST Friday, December 27, 2019 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Ramona Trover; Burial with Honors: Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 11 a.m. EST until time of services at the funeral home.
