Billy B. Cohee

Billy B. Cohee, 86, of Danville passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 3:32 pm at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. Billy was born April 30, 1931, the son of Russell and Ella (Gulley) Cohee in Lafayette, IN. Billy married the love of his life, Marilyn Goings on December 18, 1952. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage together and she preceded him in death on November 11, 2014. Surviving are his four children, Phill (Jennie) Cohee of Murfreesboro, TN, Barshia Cohee of Santa Fe, NM, Russ Cohee of Danville, and Ken (Caren) Cohee of Indianola, IA; seven grandchildren, Darcie, Nathan, Alex, Brent, Nina, Evan and Tanner; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Billy is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marilyn as well as one sister, Annabel Davis. Billy served in the United States Army for eight years and attained the rank of Sergeant. He attended the Southside Church of Christ in Danville and was a member of the Crawfordsville Masonic Lodge and the Danville Scottish Rite. He worked at RR Donnelly and Sons in several plants around the country, Rand McNally and finally at Interstate Printing in Danville, IL as a bookbinder. Many will also remember him from his days of working at Kroger store in Danville. For many years, he worked two full time jobs to support his family. After he retired he became a school bus driver, which he enjoyed greatly. Bill loved his family and was a proud father and was beloved "Papaw" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834. Raymie Gordon will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm at the funeral home with Masonic Rites being held at 2:30 pm until time of service. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
