Billie Owen

Savoy - Billie J. Owen, 88, of Savoy passed away at 9:35 PM on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at her home. She was born on November 29, 1927 in Casey, IL to Roy and Hazel (Brandenburg) Biggs. She married Nilan E. Owen on January 11, 1948 in Casey, IL. He preceded her in death in August, 2012. Surviving are three children, Connie Nickerson of Chicago, IL, Diana Owen of Savoy, and Preston Owen of Chicago; three grandchildren, Justin Owen of Reno, NV, Hunter Andre of Chicago, and Halle Andre, also of Chicago; and two great-grandchildren, Sloan and Phoebe Andre. She was preceded in death by a sister, Tressie Bennett, and two brothers, Randall and Freeman Biggs. Billie loved watching sports, and would always cheer for anything Illini. She also loved taking care of and spending time with her family. A memorial service for Billie Owen will be held at a later date. Cremation rites are being accorded by Sunset's Champaign-Urbana Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
