Bill Whittington

Hillsboro, Ind. - Bill Whittington, 77, of Hillsboro, passed away at 2:30 p.m. EST Thursday, March 4, 2021 at his residence.

He was born August 18, 1943 in Clinton, Indiana the son of the late Minnie L. (Ottinger) Switzer and John Thomas Whittington.

Survivors include his daughters: Erica Sams of Nashville, Tennessee and Karla (Brad) Cress of Veedersburg, Indiana; four grandchildren: Jacob, Krysta, JonMichael and Shelby; three great-grandchildren: Juliet Ruth, Karter and Kye; sister: Becky (Brent) Shaw of Cayuga, Indiana; niece: Brandi Norman of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and great-nephew: Owen Norman of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter: Hayden Hoover; niece: Kayla Hughes and infant brother: Donnie.

Bill formerly worked/retired from Quaker Oats in Danville, Illinois and Sommer Metalcraft in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the United States Navy. Bill graduated from Cayuga High School in 1961. He was a member of the Cayuga American Legion Post 263. He enjoyed NASCAR, woodworking, and his two dogs, Tico and Bennie.

Per Bill's wish, cremation was accorded. The family request contributions to either Paws and Claws, 2466 U.S. 41, Attica, Indiana 47918 or Parke/Vermillion Humane Society, 1884 South State Road 63, Hillsdale, Indiana 47854. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
