Billy "Bill" Thomas Warburton, 78, of Danville, died at 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at Provena Covenant Hospital in Champaign. He was born on September 3, 1926 in Danville the son of Walter S. and Ruby Lee (Atkinson) Warburton. He married Judy Price on March 27, 1982 at Oakwood United Methodist Church in Oakwood. She survives. He is survived by 1 son- Jeffrey (Lori) Warburton of Danville; 2 step-sons- David Lee of St. Louis, Missouri and James (Gail) Tuggle of Decatur; 1 step-daughter- Angela Lee Miller of Hoopeston, Illinois; 1 sister- Phyliss (Kenneth) Freeland of Danville; 7 grandchildren- Nicole Warburton, Jami Dove, Bobby Tuggle, Christopher Prunkard, Shawn Prunkard, Kyla Graves, and Samantha Lee; 2 great-grandchildren- Alexis Dove and Amarah Dove; and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother- Robert Warburton; 1 granddaughter- Michelle Tuggle; 1 grandson-Kaeden Lee. Bill graduated from Danville High School in 1944. After graduating he joined the United States Navy and was a seaman 1 class from 1944 to 1946 and served during World War II. After leaving the service he attended Millikin University and graduated in 1950. Bill owned and operated Warburton Stylists for 40 years but had been cutting hair for 50 years. He started barbering with his father and continued cutting hair in the Navy. He was a former member of the elks. He loved to golf, play pool, and he was a very accomplished artist. He loved to paint, sketch, do pottery, and wood carving. He was a member of Lincoln United Methodist Church where he served as a past president of the men's club at the church. He was also a former member of the Masons.
