Bill Vernon Fletcher, 74, of Westville passed away at 2:20 pm, Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Presence USMC, Danville. He was born on February 14, 1940 in Happy, KY, the son of Mathew and Flossie (Kincade) Fletcher. Bill married Georgianne Stout in 1962 and they were blessed with four children, Tina Strack of Georgia, Theresa (Ryan) Hicks of Ft. Wayne, IN, Randy (Laura) Fletcher of Georgetown and Trudy (Brent) Trammel of Huntington, IN. Georgianne passed away in 1998. Bill met and married Christine Haluska on September 9, 1990. She survives. Christine brought her five children into the family: Laura (Randy) Fletcher of Georgetown, John (Carrie) Waterman, Christopher (Kellie) Waterman, Melissa Waterman, all of Danville and Jason Waterman of Westville. Bill is also survived by grandchildren Lana (Princeton) Wilkins, Erin (Andrew) Zolman, Hilary (Brian) Clapper, Collin Strack, David (April) Wilcher, Adam and Tabitha Wilcher, Caleb Saylor-Hicks, Randy Fletcher, Brandon (Britenay) Herbold, Chandler and Peyton Fletcher, Brent, Rebekah, Sierra, Payton and Colton Trammel, Kacie, Jadeyn, Jace, Ashley, Sammie, Caleb, Nicholas, James, Brooklyn and John John Waterman, Elissa and Mason Johnson. Great grandchildren, Arianna, Malakai, Arissa and Aniya Wilkins, Steven and Nevaeh Patelle, Gideon and Charliann Zolman, Alexis, Liberty, David, Ambria, Aden and Gavyn Wilcher, Silvia Colton and Christopher Waterman; one sister, Virginia Bulmer of Ft. Wayne, IN; and very dear friend, Perry Warner. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jasper and Jesse Fletcher; three sisters, Delois Clemons, Elizabeth and Lillian Fletcher, and one grandson, Christopher Waterman; his mother & father-in-law, Bill & Virginia Haluska; and his faithful pet, Fletch. Bill was a jack of all trades and enjoyed the 14 years he worked at Masterguard. He loved spending time with his family and was involved in all of the sporting events his grandchildren participated in. He was a Bingo and Poker player, always breaking out the cards when company arrived. Bill was an avid collector of antiques and coins. He was well known at the local Caseys General Store where he would enjoy a cup of coffee and scratch off lottery tickets. Bill was a gifted guitar player and entertained at many functions and family gatherings. He always showed concern for others and was a wonderful, caring man who will truly be missed. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at The Vineyard (the old Nelson swimming building) 3733 Poolside Drive, Danville with visitation from 4:00 pm until the time of service. As per his wishes, Bill was cremated. Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel in Westville assisted the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Danville Cancer Center.
