Taylorville - Bill Joe Simon, 57, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Heritage Health in Springfield, IL. He was born on July 3, 1961 in Columbia City, IN to Jene Simon and Betty Raleigh. Bill married Elaine Newton on August 9, 2008 in Chicago, IL. Bill is survived by his mother; wife; children Christa (Kyle) Simon-Wood, Aimee Simon, Cory (Morgan) Simon, and Emily (Max) Simon; grandchild Austin Wood; sister Debra Eversole; half-sisters Mary Nordman and Lori Moruna; several cousins; and his dog Sonny. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Ken Simon. Bill loved to watch the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. He was very active and enjoyed working on cars and working outside. A graveside committal will be held at 2pm on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Mount Olive Cemetery in Urbana, IL.
