Bill Hawn

Bill Hawn, 72, of Urbana, passed away at 12:30 am on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. Bill was born May 10, 1943 in Dana, Indiana, the son of Glen and Flossie Miller Hawn. He married Amy Sparling. She survives. He later married Vickie Nees. She preceded him in death on January 2, 1996. He later married Amy Riggle on May 10, 2003. She survives. Other survivors include his four daughters, Amy (Lou) Bruno of Scottsville, KY, Ethel (David) Riser of Hickory, N.C., Jennifer (Shawn) Fowler of Nashua, N.H., and Sandra Martin of Urbana; five step-children, Michael Stanton of Champaign, Faron Stanton of Champaign, Thomas Sanborn of Shelbyville, Candy Loy of Kirksville, MO, and Tyler Riggle of Urbana; two brothers, Larry (Carol) Hawn of Terre Haute, IN and David (Donna) Hawn of Owensboro, KY; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bill worked for the University of Illinois for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing and church activities. A celebration of the life of Bill Hawn will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Champaign Urbana Chapel, 710 N, Neil St. Champaign, with Pastor Jon Callahan officiating. He will be laid to rest in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Visitation of family and friends will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
