Bill D. Walters

Cayuga, Ind. - Bill D. Walters, 88, of Cayuga, passed away at 6:05 p.m. CST Thursday, February 22, 2018 at North Logan Health Care Center in Danville, Illinois.

He was born October 20, 1929 in Cayuga, Indiana, the son of the late James Elwood and Carrie E. (Hold) Walters.

Survivors include his four daughters: Ellen (Brian) Knight of Ladoga, Indiana; Paula (Bob) Shepherd of Danville, Illinois; Julie Kingrey of Cayuga, Indiana and Leslie Bailey of Oakwood, Illinois; six grandchildren: Shelley, Heidi, Robert, Christy, Jacob and Shelby; four great grandchildren: Aidin, Kaitlin, Walter and Brenden; three sisters, Pauline Anweiler of Carmel, Indiana; Joan Houston of Inkom, Idaho and Jean Switzer of Cayuga, Indiana; one brother, James (Lavern) Walters of Anderson, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew; three sisters: Lucille Barker; June Holden and Muriel Hammand, and one brother: Floyd Walters.

Bill retired from Olin/Flexel in Covington, Indiana and formerly worked at Jenkins Concrete in Cayuga, Indiana. He was a 1947 graduate of Cayuga High School. Bill enjoyed farming, college basketball, visiting and also helping his family and friends. He was a great Dad and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services: 1 p.m. EST Monday, February 26, 2018 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Craig Belser; Burial: Eugene Cemetery in Eugene, Indiana; Visitation: 11 a.m. EST Monday, February 26, 2018 until time of services at the funeral home.
