Billy Lee Snack, 74, of Clarkston, MI, Formerly of Danville, went home to be with his Lord on September 3, 2008, surrounded by his wife and sons. Bill was born on April 27, 1934, in Sidell, IL, to the late Dorothy and Earl Snack. Bill was a maintenance supervisor for General Motors, Danville/ Tilton Illinois Plant, and retired with 36 years of service. Bill was an avid sports fan and antique collector. He always had a love for American history and was especially interested in Lincoln. Over the years, he and his brother Gene collected Lincoln memorabilia and rare documents that Bill felt should be available for everyone to enjoy. In 2005, he co-authored and published Rare Personal Accounts of Abraham Lincoln. Bill is survived by his wife Pat, four sons; Timothy (Crystal) of Bedford, IN., Mark of Dallas, TX, Don (Cathy) of Danville, IL. and Matt Wiese of Phoenix, AZ. Two daughters, Becky young of Georgetown, IL, and Lisa (Tom) Fridmanski of Westville, IL. Six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Three sisters, Edna Ferling of Fithian, Il, Marden (Russell) Jones of Danville, Il, and Millie Hylton of Bakersfield, CA. Three brothers, Elmer, Virgil, and Gene Snack preceded him in death.
