Beverly Jean Jones

Beverly Jean Jones, 88 of Tilton, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at 5:10 AM at North Logan Healthcare Center in Danville. She was born in Tilton March 28, 1928 to Glenn and Odessa Davis, both deceased. She married Herschel Jones on October 27, 1946. He preceded her in death December 23, 2003. Survivors include her son, Richard (Cathy) Jones of Tilton; grandchildren, Bridgette (Chris) Latoz of Wadsworth, IL, Tiffany (Herb McClellan) Jones of Tilton, and Ryan and Jonathan Jones of Tilton; great-grandchildren, Sammy and Elizabeth; as well as a special sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Danny; sister, Violet Gruber; and brother, Merle Davis. Beverly was a graduate of Danville High School. She worked for Danville School District #118 as a secretary for 23 years retiring in 1989. She enjoyed traveling, attending plays, bus trips, nature, and being with friends. She attended Southside Church of Christ in Danville. A Celebration of Beverly's life will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 11:00 am at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State Street, Westville. Pastor Kevin Ziegler will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Songer Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials in her name can be made to the Danville Rescue Mission.
