Beverly Jean Albert

Beverly Jean (Jones) Albert, 84, of Hardin, Illinois, formerly of Danville, passed away at 12:35 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Calhoun Nursing and Rehab in Hardin, Illinois. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Danville and later attended St. Pauls Catholic Church in Danville and St. Jeromes Catholic Church in Tampa, Florida. She was an avid bridge player most of her life. She won many tournaments and served as an instructor. She was a member of the Y wives and served as their president as well. She also enjoyed modeling for various boutiques in Tampa, Florida in her later years. After her graduation from Danville High School, she married Lloyd O. Albert Jr. They were together for over 35 years before his premature death. During their marriage, while raising their two daughters, she had several occupations. She worked at Walgreens Pharmacy, House and Towne Dress Shop as a cashier and saleswoman, Carsons Pharmacy as a bookkeeper and Dr. Stowring Dentistry as a bookkeeper, receptionist and dental assistant. She married Herman Anthony Tony Sadowski on August 7, 1987. They had sixteen years together before his death in January 2004. Beverly was born July 14, 1924 in Vermilion Heights, Illinois, in Vermilion County. She was the daughter of the late Ralph P. and Marian E. (Eaglen) Jones. She married Lloyd O. Albert Jr. and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1979. She is survived by her daughter- Beverly Sue (Albert) Underwood of Meppen, Illinois; son-in-law- Jim Geades of Phoenix, Arizona; brother- Bill (Mary) Jones of San Diego, California; sister- Sally (Bob) Knight of Danville; sister-in-law- Margaret (Wes) Fanson of Gibson City, Illinois; brother-in-law- Jim Bernardi of Frisco, Texas; four grandchildren- Brett Underwood of St. Louis, Missouri, Melissa (Mike) Sievers of Meppen, Illinois, Rebeccah (Keith) Baecht of Jerseyville, Illinois and Benjamin Geades of Phoenix, Arizona; three great-grandchildren- Jarod and Brittany Sievers of Meppen, Illinois and Matthew Baecht of Jerseyville, Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband- Lloyd O. Albert Jr.; daughter- Julie J. (Albert) Geades; parents- Ralph P. and Marian (Eaglen) Jones; brother- Ronald Jones; sister- Nancy (Jones) Mitchell; son-in-law- Larry D. Underwood; sister-in-law- Betty (Albert) Bernardi ONeill; parent-in-laws- Lloyd O. and Lucille (Cass) Albert Sr.; and husband- Herman Anthony Tony Sadowski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2009 at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Danville, with Father Dennis OReilly officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park following the service.
