Danville - Beverly Jane Starns, 93, of Danville passed away at 6:00 AM on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Colonial Manor in Danville. She was born on August 5, 1923 in Danville to Sylvester Andrew and Shirley Clarie (Davies) Miller. She married Robert V. Starns. He preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by two sons, Jed (Crystal) Starns of Potomac and Timothy (Vivian) Starns of Billings, MT; a daughter-in-law, Lynne Starns of Lawrenceville, GA; sister, Marilyn Mitchell of Lake City, FL; 10 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Starns, and three brothers, Ben, Jack, and Don Miller. Beverly and her husband owned and operated Starns Bakery in Danville, which later became St. Arns clothing store. She was a lifelong resident of Vermilion Heights and a lifelong member of Vermilion Heights Methodist Church. A service to celebrate the life of Beverly Starns will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Cale Boyd will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM prior to the service on Saturday, also at Sunset. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Colonial Manor.
