Beverly Elsberg

Beverly Jean Marie Elsberg (Nourie), 73, of Danville left this earth in the early morning hours of Monday, January 16, 2017 to be reunited with her mother in heaven after a year long treatment of Melanoma. Beverly was born to Ellsworth and Margaret (DeReade) Nourie in Biloxi Mississippi on December 23, 1943. After her mother passed at an early age, she spent most of her childhood with her father's family in Kankakee, Bourbonnais, and Danville, Illinois. Beverly was married to William Richter as a young woman and they had three children. Beverly worked her entire adult life with significant years at Continental Filling (ATI), Eagles Food Stores, and Quaker Oats. One of her passions in life was union representation and she strived to improve working conditions through union leadership. She leaves behind to celebrate her legacy of love and family, her daughter Nicole Cobb (Paul Olson), her sons Douglas Richter, and Brian Richter (Tim Shea) her grandchildren Ashley (Jesse) Ruter, Taylor Cobb, Demi Richter (Adam Winn), Drew Richter, Carson Richter, Camron Richter, Debrae RichterSheaher greatgrandaughterDevyn Exe and her brother Joe (Cindy) Nourie. Beverly was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret DeReade Nourie, her father Ellsworth Nourie and her stepmother Mona Nourie. There will be a private family prayer service at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 3940 N Vermilion in Danville. The family will host a celebrationof life during the summertime in the Danville area. Details will be forthcoming. The family gives special appreciation to Fr. Dave Sajdak of Holy Cross Church and Carol Schank from Carl Hospice for the compassion and care they gave to Beverly and her family.
