Beulah M. Thomas

Beulah M. Thomas, 88, of Georgetown, formerly of Indianola, passed away at 3:00pm, Thursday, November 14, 2013, in Danville, with her family at her side. She was born on November 24, 1924, in Lilbourn, MO, the daughter of Jay W. and Dora Lola [Austin] Barrett, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Joseph E. Thomas on September 27, 1941, in Danville, IL, until his passing in June of 1984. She will be dearly missed by: her children, Jim (Ruth) Thomas, Ricky Thomas, Gregory (Sherri) Thomas, Rozella (Fred) Clore, Donna (John) Sloan, Bonnie (Steve) Lyman, Lola (Robert) Snell; her 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Woods. She was preceded in death by: a daughter-in-law, Barbara Thomas; 3 grandchildren; and 3 sisters. Beulah was a member of the United Methodist Church of Indianola. She had retired from Georgetown Republic Plastics Factory. She loved flowers, gardening, & cooking for her extended families. She was a wonderful Christian woman and devoted her life to caring for her seven children and their families. A celebration of Beulahs life will be held at 10:00am, Monday, November 18, 2013, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with David Almy officiating. Visitation will be 2pm-5pm, Sunday, November 17, 2013, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola. Memorials may be made in her name to United Methodist Church of Indianola.
