Betty A. Zimmerman, 67, of Tilton, went to be with our Lord at 2:15 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2006, at Provena U.S.M.C. in Danville. Betty was born October 17, 1939, in Danville, the daughter of Robert and Evelyn (Epperson) Porter, Sr. She married Earl Zimmerman on April 13, 1973 in Danville. He survives. Betty is survived by her step-father, Ervin Sellers of Benton, LA; four sons, Richard (Marsha) Woodard and Joseph W. (Terri) Rhymer both of Danville, David (Maria) Zimmerman of Irving, TX and Stephen Zimmerman of Indianapolis, IN; three daughters, Debra Woodard of Danville, April Jenkins of Charleston, IL and Wendy Pichon of Danville; three brothers, Robert Porter, Jr. of Oakwood, IL, David (Mary Beth) Porter of Cincinnati, OH, and James (Brenda) Porter of Benton, LA; one sister, Wilma Porter of South Carolina; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Heidi. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Donna Lee Porter and Carol Porter and one great-grandson, Reese Tre Billot III. Betty was a homemaker who had many interests, but she considered helping others and spending time with family and friends to be most important. She was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene where she was a past Sunday school teacher. A celebration of Bettys life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2006 at Southside Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jay Sorrell officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Danville. Burial will be at Danville National Cemetery.
