Betty Woodard, 94, of Cayuga passed away on February 17, 2024, at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN, with family by her side. Betty was born on March 25, 1929, in Saint Bernice, IN the daughter of Chester and Edith (Markwell) Vandivier. Betty married the love of her life Charles "Mooney" Woodard. He preceded her in death.

Betty leaves behind her daughter; Cindy (Tim) Wilson of Cayuga, her grandchildren; Chad Starkey, Shaun (Carrie) Starkey, Charlie Starkey all of Cayuga, Zach (Krysta) Starkey of MO, Joe (Calie) Wilson, Sarah (Steve) Cook, and Jeanine Wilson all of Cayuga, Great grandchildren; Seanacee, Sierra, Owen, Bailee, Shaylyn, Addie, Payton, Liam, Jolie, Bodhi, Carter and Kami, her two brothers; Bill (Pat) Vandivier, Bob (Freda) Vandivier, many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, her parents her brother and sister-in-law, Bernard (Jean) Vandivier also her son in law James Starkey.

Betty was a hard worker, she retired from the dietary department at the VA. She was the first cook for Head Start in Cayuga and worked at Royal Donut in Danville. Betty early on in life was an employee at Alshers sewing factory in Clinton. She was a member of the Cayuga Fire Department Auxiliary for ten plus years. Betty liked to garden and be outside, she enjoyed the time sitting in her swing watching people go by. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, Golf, and her Soaps on tv. Being able to help with her grandchildren and the great grandchildren was the biggest joy in Bettys life. Betty helped take care of her special needs great granddaughter until her health did not allow her to do so, she loved them all and she will be dearly missed.

A Graveside service will be held at Thomas Cemetery on February 21, 2024, at 1 pm. Bettys family entrusted Sunsets DeVerter Chapel in Cayuga, Indiana with arrangements. Her family would like to invite you to leave a memory on her tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
