Betty Jeanine Wilson, age 72, of Danville, passed away at 12:19 pm on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Logan Campus in Danville. She was born October 2, 1937 in Danville. She was the daughter of Arthur L. and Francis F. (Drews) Schult and sister of Carole J. (James) Knight. She married Larry Wayne Wilson September 9, 1957 at the Oaklawn Presbyterian Church. They remained happily married for almost 47 years until his death in 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Carole Knight. She attended both the Immanuel Lutheran & Oaklawn Grade Schools and graduated from Danville High School in 1955. She worked as a bookkeeper for both Meis Bros. & Goldblatts Department Stores, then for Danville School District #118 as part of the kitchen staff at DHS, East Park & Meade Park. She retired in 1999. She enjoyed watching both The Fighting Illini & her Cubbies on TVand was a proud Danville Vikings fan. She loved listening to Elvis. (And swore he was still alive!) Although she never had children of her own, a stranger that may be passing by her house would have never known it. Her home was in a constant rotation of her many nieces and nephews. She was Aunt Betty to several generations and she loved them all, and they her. On any given day, you could find her going bike riding with them, playing croquet, Yahtzee, Monopoly, or even hiding behind a bush during spotlight. Many Friday evenings were spent around the TV eating pizza & popcorn and watching Sammy Terry. Her days were planned around them. Housework was completed early in the mornings in order to spend as much time with them as possible. A better time could not have been found than at Aunt Bettys House. (And she had ham, she had turkeyshe had hot dogs) A kinder soul could not be found. Always having a smile on her face, our Aunt Betty strived to enjoy life to its fullest.and we were lucky to have been a part of it. A Celebration of Bettys Life will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL..
