With sadness, we announce the passing of Betty “June” Ryan, 90, peacefully at her home in Rantoul on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving husband and children.
June was born on June 1, 1933, in Iola, Ill., to Lee and Claribel (Mitchell) Rogers.
June had a very successful career in federal civil service and being the wife of a career Air Force husband, her service spanned several states over the years. Her stellar work ethic preceded her and she always had a job waiting for her at each of her husband‘s duty stations.
Her interests and talents were many but her passion was her devotion and love in being a wife, mother and Meme. She was the light of the family and the gentle, beautiful, loving soul who connected us all. Her spirit will continue to do that throughout our lives.
She is survived by the love of her life, Eugene P. “Gene” Ryan, Jr. They were married on Sept. 6, 1963, and celebrated 60 years of marriage.
She is also survived by her children, Frank Street of Rantoul, Gail Loschen (Larry Harris) of Urbana and Michelle Street of Rantoul. Her grandchildren are Rob Loschen (Morgan) of Gifford, Roxanne Street (Chris Warner) of Paxton, Greg Loschen of Champaign, Shelby Street and Kelley Street of Tolono. Her great-grandchildren are Lukas Palomar and Hannah Palomar of Paxton and Bowen Loschen of Gifford.
A private family service will be held at Lux Memorial Chapel and a celebration of life will be planned for early summer.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
