Betty Ruble

Betty J. Ruble, 72, of Georgetown, passed away at 11:00am, Tuesday, May 6th, 2008, at Provena USMC, Danville. She was born September 15th, 1935, in Alabama to M. Woodrow and Ruth (Caldwell) Murphy, both deceased. She will be dearly missed by: her children, William D. Ruble of Georgetown, Marla (Mike Lesko) Ruble of Georgetown, & Jeanie Swalls of Terre Haute, IN; her two grandchildren, Katee Ruble & Wylee Ruble, both of Georgetown; her siblings, Marshal W. (Dorothy) Murphy of Brockton, IL, Tom (Marty) Murphy of Phoenix, AZ, Lorraine Harbarger of Chrisman, IL, & Wilma Tibbs of Georgetown; as well as, her special friends, Jan Davis, Maggie Nale, & Kala Winland of Georgetown. Her dog, Stolli, whom she adored, will also miss her. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Susan Ruble. Betty retired from General Motors. She was a wonderful cook and her kitchen was always open to friends. She enjoyed tending her flowers, gardening, working crossword puzzles, and chatting with her neighbors. She was a wonderful Mother and showed that she loved her children dearly. To know Betty was to love her. A celebration of Bettys life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, May 10th, 2008, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Visitation will be 4p to 8p, Friday, May 9th, 2008, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to: Danville Humane Society.
