Betty Prouty

Betty Ann Prouty, 85, of Danville, passed away at 11:40am on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Mrs. Prouty was born in Danville on July 20, 1923, the daughter of Arthur and Louise (Pundt) Wyatt. She married Mr. Donald A. Prouty and was married for 60 years until his passing in 1998. Survivors include one son, Donald (Chris) Prouty of Danville, three daughters, Nancy (Jerry) Gulledge of Plano, Il, Sondra (Joe) Alexander of Danville, and Debbie (Alan) Wait of Perrysville, IN. Betty is also survived by several of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her brother, Herman Wyatt of Danville, and her son-in-law, Murray Zaske of Warrensburg, IL. Her parents, husband, Donald, daughter, Linda Zaske, grandson, Ray Gulledge, and great-grandson, Nathan D. Donaldson precede Betty in death. Betty worked at the former, Lakeview Medical Center in Danville until retirement. She was a member of the Latter Rain Fellowship Church of Danville and enjoyed being with her family, and church family. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, and being a Chicago Cubs fan. A Celebration of Bettys life will begin at 2:00pm on Friday, April 24, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with Pastor Don Prouty officiating. Internment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1p-2p on Friday, April 24, 2009 at the funeral home.
