Betty Parthena Rossiter Craig, 88, of Georgetown, passed away at 6:00pm, Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born on August 10, 1929, in Georgetown the daughter of Dayton and Ruth {Elliott} Carter, both deceased. She was first married to Claude Earl Rossiter Sr. until his passing on December 15, 1970. She later was united in marriage to Dean W. Craig until his death on January 11, 2007. She is survived by: her sons, Danny Rossiter of Westville, Carl (Stacie) Rossiter of Danville, & Claude Jr (Diane) Rossiter of Virginia Beach, VA; her daughter, Ruth A. Pundt of Georgetown; her 13 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren; her brothers, Don (Shirley) Carter of Arizona & Keith (Nancy) Carter of Fairmount; her sisters, Maxine (Ronald) Morrison of Georgetown & Shirley Bartley of Danville; and her special friends, Bob & Lulabell Sprouls. She was preceded in death by: her son, Roy Lee; four sisters; one brother; and four grandchildren. Betty retired from Peterson Filling after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Georgetown. She loved cooking and making candy. She also enjoyed going camping & waterskiing. In her spare time, Betty would enjoy playing Bingo, crafting, & doing word searches. Her family was extremely special to her and loved them above all else. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a thank you to the nursing staff at Colonial Manor Nursing Home for their care of Betty. A celebration of Betty's life will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Sunday prior to her service at the funeral home. As were her wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
