Betty Maybelle Rubin

Betty Maybelle Rubin passed away on Monday, July 27, 2009 peacefully at her home in Danville. She was born on May 1, 1932 in Potomac, Illinois, to Earl and Mary Pierce. She attended Potomac High School. She graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1953 as a Registered Nurse. Betty worked as an RN in Industrial Nursing and was a devoted mother and care giver to her daughter, Penny. Betty married Maurice Rick Rubin on March 8, 1954, in Danville. She lived in Danville for 59 years. Her husband, parents and brother, Earl Pierce, preceded her in death. Betty is survived by her sister, Pat Linck, two sons, Ricke and Jeff, a daughter, Lorene Lane, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, from 1-3 pm. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A gathering for Bettys family and friends will be held at the Executive Plaza, 3550 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, following the service. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be given in Bettys honor to Carle-Danville Oncology, Attn: Denise Long, 2300 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61832
