Betty Mae Wilson, 69, of Danville, left our hearts in sorrow at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. God blessed our presence with her life on November 18, 1936 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the daughter of Isaac Lee and Ella Loretta (Edmonds) Camden. Betty was raised by her step father Albert Wustholz and her mother Ella. She married George Wilson on June 10, 1956 in Hoopeston, Illinois. He survives. After 69 years of love Betty leaves behind two sons- George Joe (Penny) Wilson of Danville and Albert Ray (Jayne) Wilson of Mt. Pulaski; three daughters- LeeAnna (Daniel) Ward of Chatham, Betty Wilson of Danville, and Linnette (Roger) Gutterridge of Danville; one step-brother- Robert Wustholz of Danville; one step-sister- Alberta Crozier of Hoopeston; 11 grandchildren- Chris Wilson, Joseph Shane (Jill) Wilson, Samantha Wilson, Chance Wilson, Jacob Gutterridge, Elizabeth Gutteridge, Tyler (Amber) Gutterridge all of Danville, Jeremy (Susan) Ward of Sacramento, California, Michelle Ward of Chatham, Illinois, Tom Harley of Divernon, Illinois, and Tory (Melissa) Harley of Northfork, Virginia; four great-grandchildren- Kaden and Peyton Wilson of Danville; Caitlyn Ward of Sacramento, California, and Kaylee Harley of Divernon, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father- Albert Wustholz, one step-sister- Sylvia Matthew, three uncles- Roy Edmonds, Tom Edmonds, and Benny Edmonds. Betty graduated from John Greer High School in 1956. She was a homemaker. Betty was a member of the Cowboy Church in Hoopeston. Betty loved crafts and flowers. She enjoyed traveling and especially going to Gatlinburg. She enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets. In her younger years she enjoyed going camping, bowling and was a member in a bunko club. Betty baked and decorated wedding cakes for several years. She loved listening to Country and western gospel music. Betty and George were both members of the Kickapoo Karvers. Betty loved to eat banana pop sickles and always had one in her hand. Betty and George just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 10, 2006. Betty will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. Goodbye is not an option in the lifetime we know. We have life, love, laughter, and unfortunately sorrow. But, I will be there in your arms when you come back to see me. I will help protect you from all harm. I will be with you. May the flowers bloom in your hearts and in your eyes. It is only for this short time we must say good bye. A celebration of the life of Betty Mae Wilson will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Pastor Bud McMasters officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Gundy Cemetery in Bismarck. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Cowboy Church in Hoopeston.
