Betty Lou "Sue" Dailey Hoover, 92 years young was born in Muncie, IL on 12/26/1926 to Guy and Ivy (Marian) Dailey, passed on 03/13/2019.
She is a sister to Franklin R., Oscar L., and Robert D. Dailey. She is a Descendant of Sir John Claypool of England and also of Sam Shannon of Ireland.
Her Husband George R. Hoover Sr of 54 years, passed in 2012
Her Children are Susan Jaylenne Thomason (Paul)of Fithian, Il and George R. Hoover (Teresa Strebig) of York, Pa. Grandchildren: Jason A. McDaniel, Abby J. McDaniel, Bridget Strebig and Hannah L. Hoover. Great Grandchildren: Owen A. McDaniel who passed in 2017, Khloe Brouner and Kadyn McDaniel. She is Aunt Sue to rest of the family, Nieces and Nephews, Cousins Call her Sue or Susie
Her family was in several military services and her father started the Collison Chapter of the Masons. She was a Member of the D.A.R. and the Eastern Star.
She grew up in Fithian, and rode the inter/urban rail to Champaign to visit her Aunt Maureen. She also rode the inter/urban rail to Danville to visit grandparents and Aunts and Uncles. She loved fishing with her Granddad. Later she moved with her parents to Danville and graduated from Danville High School in 1945, she worked while in school at Woolworths. She worked at American Oil as a secretary. Changed jobs to "Chuckels Candy Co." first as a secretary and a few months later as a Lab Tech. She retired after 35 years. Her hobbies were reading novels, traveling, and shopping especially on QVC. She loved visiting family, cooking, and always ready to go somewhere. She was well known for her sweet potatoes and dressing dishes at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was well cared for and loved by the entire staff at "The Waters of Covington," Covington, Indiana.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Mac. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held the evening prior, on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
