Betty Lou Nasser

Betty Lou Nasser, 95, of Danville passed away at 5:30pm on Friday, February 15, 2019. Betty was born on December 13, 1923 the daughter of Fredrick and Helen Galey. On February 8, 1942 she married the love of her life Paul M. Nasser and they spent the next 64 years together before his passing in 2007.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Anna (Larry) Jones, Paula Jean (Paul) Newell, Melissa (Robert) Virostek, sister Pauline Lazzell, brother Charles Galey, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Betty loved flowers and enjoyed spending time with her husband Paul tending to the rose bushes or their garden. Betty was a member of Faith Church of Christ and even in her older age never missed a service, which is how she received her nickname Faithful Betty. Although she enjoyed many things in life her family always came first, and she would gladly do anything for them. She will be deeply missed by all who met her.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday February 20, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Bill Carpenter. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1pm to 2pm at the funeral home.
