Betty Lou Marshall

Betty Lou "Lulu" Marshall, left her devoted friends and family to be with God and reunite with her Mom, Dad and Sister in Heaven at 4:35 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Presence Covenant Hospital in Champaign, Illinois. Betty was born on April 21, 1946 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Lowell and Ruby May Marshall. After graduating from high school in Cupertino, California, Betty followed in her Dad's footsteps and joined the US Navy in November 1964. Betty remained in the Navy until May 1975 when she began her Federal civil service career in the Washington, DC area. Betty worked for several Federal agencies in the field of Information Systems until her retirement in May 2003, after 39 years in Federal service. Betty spent many an hour researching her ancestry and the Civil War but her favorite past time was meeting up to play bingo with the friends that adored her. A Celebration of Betty's Life will be shared between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, the 8th of October at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 710 N. Neil Street, Champaign, Illinois. It was Betty' s wishes that she be cremated. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of America.
