Betty Lou Barnhill, 90, of Danville, passed away at 3:13om on Saturday August 11, 2017 with family by her side. She was born on December 3, 1927 in Ashmore, IL the daughter of George and Gladys Golliday. Betty is survived by her daughters, Lynn Ann (Michael) Simpson, Andrea Dee (Michael) Lunt; son, Robert Pugh; grandchildren, Jeanette Vandenboon, Michael Simpson, Katherine Hudson, Jarren Vandcamp, Stephanie Smith, Misty Gonzales, Michael Lunt, Adam Lunt, 22 great-grandchildren and special family friend Rahmondo Kelly. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Pugh; brothers, Wesley Golliday, James Golladay and sisters Eloise Kelly, Dorothy Butcher. Betty graduated from Charleston High School class of 1945. She spent over thirty years working at General Electric before her retirement and in her spare time she liked crocheting and crossword puzzles. She loved working in her garden and watching the birds that would appear but her biggest passion in life was her religion. She truly enjoyed reading the bible and listening to gospel music. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2pm on Friday August 17, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1pm to 2pm at the funeral home.
