Danville Betty L. Walter, 94, of Danville passed away at 2:50 AM on December 12, 2019 at Colonial Manor in Danville, IL.
Betty was born on January 12, 1925 the daughter of A. Ray and Bessie L. (Barcley) Talbert in Danville. She married Robert T. Walter on June 19, 1946 in Danville and he preceded her in death on March 20, 1998.
Survivors include her son, Jeffrey R. Walter and partner Wayne Wendt of Houston TX and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert.
Betty was an active member of Pleasant Grove Bible Chapel. She was a 1943 Graduate of Bismarck Township High School, during her adult life she worked in the editorial department of the Commercial-News, as a cashier and secretary at First Savings Bank and Loan and retired in 1990 after 20 years of service as a secretary at Danville Area Community College. In her free time she enjoyed her church and working in her yard. Her happiest times were spent on her John Deere!
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt Hope Cemetery, Covington, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove Bible Chapel.
