Betty L. Clem Arthion Starr, 93, of Danville, IL, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville.

Born in Danville, IL, Betty was the daughter of the late Russell and Grace (Laird) Clem. She was a retired bookkeeper for Hardings Pharmacy and a former member of Holiday Hills Free Methodist Church.

Betty is survived by a son, Randy (Dori) Arthion of Lockport, IL; a daughter, Karen (Nicolas) Cantu of Greenville, SC; step-daughter, Ann (Ron) Wagle of Bismarck, IL; brother, William (Judy) Clem of Danville, IL; sister, Shirley Knee of Cincinnati, OH, 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Carl (Gene) Arthion; second husband, Samuel Starr; son, Ronald Arthion; step-daughter, Ellen Smith; brothers, Robert, James, Walter, Frank, Albert and Russell Clem and two sisters, Mary Porter and Bert Jurgensen.

Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Colonial Manor, especially Marsh Lock for caring for Betty during her final years. Your kindness, compassion, and patience are greatly appreciated.

A celebration of Bettys life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 North Vermilion Street, Danville, IL. The Reverend Jason Phillips will preside. A visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00pm prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Johnson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Human Society of Danville, IL 1225 North Collett Street, Danville, IL 61832 or danvillehumane.org.
