Betty L. England, 90, of Sidell, and former resident at Gardenview Manor in Danville, passed away at 4:20pm, Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Presence USMC, Danville. She was born March 22, 1925 in Georgetown, daughter of Joseph and Melissa (Wilson) Barnvofsky. Betty married the love of her life, Louie T. England on February 1, 1946 in Danville and he preceded her in death on June 17, 2001. She is survived by her son, Terry (Janice) England of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Beverly (Terry) Reed of Sidell; grandchildren, Shelly (Dave) Alpers, Russell (Brenda) England, Richard (Marcy) England, Michelle (Chad) McGraw, Karen Reed, Tina (Jack) Divan, and Terry (Bobbi) Reed II; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Jordan Alpers, Tessa Garrett, Jake England, Dakota, Evan, and Tyler England, Dalton and Dillon McGraw, Paul Reed, Jarrett Divan, Maranda and Russell Reed; and one great-great-grandchild, Wrangler England. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, and one infant daughter, Sandra Kay. Betty worked as a nursing assistant for many years. She retired from Steel Grip Safety Apparel as a seamstress December 31, 1985. Betty was a past member of the Vermilion Fishing Club and loved to spend time on the water fishing. She also enjoyed watching birds, puzzles, crossword puzzles, and camping. During baseball season you could find her cheering on her favorite team, the Chicago Cubs. Betty had a true talent and love for music. She played a variety of instruments some of them being the piano, organ, accordion, and guitars. A Celebration of Bettys life will be held 1:00pm, Monday, April 13, 2015 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown. Pastor Mike Murrell will officiate. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm, Monday, April 13, 2015 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorials donations can be made in Bettys name to Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
