Betty K. Sleva, 73, of Peoria, IL, formerly of Westville, passed away at 9:39 AM, Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, in Peoria, IL. She was born on November 19, 1945, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Cecil M. and Janet (Bishop) Gill.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Chris) White of Dunlap, IL; her grandsons, Connor and Elliott White, of Dunlap, IL, her sister, Janice Barker, of Paxton, IL, three nephews, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark E. Sleva, her son, Aaron G. Sleva, her father, Cecil M. Gill, her mother, Janet (Bishop) Gill, her sister, Linda (Gill) Stine, and her great niece, Emily Stine.

Betty was retired from the Federal Probation Office in Urbana, IL. She was an avid reader and Chicago Cubs fan. She loved movies and spending time with her grandsons.

A celebration of Bettys life will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, located at 414 S State St. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the celebration of life. Per her wishes, Betty will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in her name to the Sandusky Cemetery in Westville.
