Betty Jean Thomason

Fithian - Betty Jean Thomason, 83, of Fithian formerly of Danville went to be with the Lord at 11:30 PM at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana on September 2, 2018. Betty was born on April 6, 1935 the daughter of Everett Cecil and Helen (Mitchell) Crawley in Danville, IL. She married Rollie Leon Thomason on December 31, 1954 and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1996. Survivors include three sons; Terry (Donna) Thomason of Fayetteville, AK, Michael Thomason of Edwardsville, IL and Jerry Thomason of Danville, IL, two daughters; Teresa (Mike) Hoshauer of Fithian, IL and Brenda (Jack) Lewis of Oakwood, IL, three brothers; Jupe Crawley of Danville, IL, Jack (Joyce) Crawley of Danville, IL and Tom Crawley of San Diego, CA, four sisters; Patty (Don) Lau of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Ruth Chiaramellow of Westville, IL, Donna (Jim) Delattre of Tilton, IL and Linda (Merle) Sager of Tilton, IL, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Rollie, three brothers; Mick, George and Jerry Crawley, one sister; Barbara Jean Crawley, one granddaughter; April Hoshauer, one grandson; David Thomason and one great grandchild. Betty owned and operated Leon's Diner from 1964-1978 and was an avid sports fan. She especially enjoyed the Cubs, KU Girls Basketball, the Illini and enjoyed watching baseball, basketball and tennis on television and working word search puzzles. Most of all Betty enjoyed spending her free time with family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St, Danville, IL. Pastor Leland Legg will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the funeral home.
