Betty Jean Lane

Betty Jean Lane, 92, passed away peacefully at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center on November 8, 2022. She was born on November 5, 1930, the daughter of Claude and Ruby (Pease) Kirkpatrick in Danville, IL. She married Melvin Lane on December 28, 1952, and he preceded her in death on February 29, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Clement Kirkpatrick, and sister, Margaret Martin.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Karen (Dennis) Williamson of Pesotum, IL and Kathy (Tom) Tiernan of Danville, IL; six grandchildren, Ryan (Lindsey) Williamson, Sara Lane Williamson, Andy (Whitney) Yoder, Adam (Morgan) Yoder, Amanda (Michael) Burress, and Tony (Deejay) Tiernan; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty's family would like to thank her small group from Second Church; her caregivers during her last days, Leslie and Andrianne; and her special friends, Charlene Fletcher and Diane Lazzell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor Greg Taylor will officiate. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mann's Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
