Betty Jane Mosser, 82, of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida, passed away at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday, July 27th, 2011 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. Betty was born on September 13th, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Howard P. and Margaret Garnet (Brush) Weldon. She married John Mosser on September 9th, 1950 at the SAE Chapel in Evanston, Illinois. He survives. She is also survived by three children- Jani (Jim) Piercy of Champaign, Susie (David) Hodde of Brownsburg, Indiana and Tom (Sandy) Mosser of Lafayette, Indiana; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother- Howard "Hezzie" Weldon. Betty graduated from Niles Township High School. She attended Chicago Expression and Dramatic Arts and later attended the University of Illinois, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. While living in Danville she was active in Redmask Players, PEO, Salvation Army and First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed golfing, gardening and most of all spending time with her family and friends. A Celebration of the life of Betty Jane Mosser will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 1st, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church in Danville, with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Hopper officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Monday at the church. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Betty's name to the American Cancer Society, First Presbyterian Church or the Donor's Choice.
