Betty Jane Lane

Betty Jane Lane, age 91 of Danville, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 11:00 PM at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 22, 1924 in Vincennes, Indiana the daughter of Joseph and Lottie (DeLong) Thompson. Betty married the love of her life, Francis C. Lane on October 1942 in Vincennes, IN. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1962. Surviving are her children, Claudia (Ken) Pickard of Danville, Bonnie Lane of Danville, Marilyn Sollars of Bloomington, IL, Olivia (Mark) Kuchefski of Bloomington, IN, Catherine (Richard) Jones of Tilton, Frank (Penny Brauninger) Lane of Danville, Joe Lane of Tilton, and Steve (Pam) Lane of Danville; grandchildren, Scott, Suzette, Jennie, Sarah, Chas, Ann, Laura, Bridgette, Tiffany, Ryan, Jonathan, Lindy, Amanda, Nichole, Jacob, and Jonas; 17 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Linda Lane of Vincennes, IN; special nieces, Susie Kutter of Vincennes, IN and Joanne Taggart of Nashville, IN; as well as many other friends and family who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Francis, and sister, Jeannie Felton. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Colonial Manor Nursing Home for the loving care they gave their mother for the past three years. Betty was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Betty found such great joy and happiness in cooking and caring for her family. She had a deep faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, who sustained her through her trials in life. Betty always put our Lord first, then her family, then others, and herself last. She was a true devoted servant unto our Lord. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11:00 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville. Father Flattery will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Betty's name can be made to Schlarman Academy or Holy Family Catholic Church.
