Betty J. Thornsbrough

Betty Jane Aldrich Thornsbrough, 98, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Colonial Manor. She was born on February 24, 1921 the daughter of Charles and Virgia (Finley) Aldrich in Dana, IN.

Betty has no surviving relatives. She is survived by her adopted family, Alice Smith and Alices family. She spent much time watching the Smith grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. She was "Aunt Betty" to all of them.

Betty retired from JC Penny after serving as a payroll cashier for 40 years. She had the opportunity of cutting the ribbon on the New JC Penny opening in the Danville Village Mall. Betty enjoyed knitting, working jig saw puzzles, and especially playing Euchre. She was a member of the North Side Church in Bismarck and also went to the First Baptist Church in Danville.

A Service will be held at 10 am on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Russell. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery in Danville.
