Betty J. Stark, 82, a Danville native, passed away March 24, 2012 at her home. She was born on December 31, 1929 in Westville, the daughter of George and Sylvia (Nier) Lisick. Both are deceased. On October 28, 1950, Betty married Lloyd D. Stark. They were married for forty nine years until his passing in 1999. Survivors include her four children; Gregory (Mira) Stark, Keith (Jane) Stark, Lloyd (Debbie) Stark, and Judy and (Stephanie) Stark. Her twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and her sister; Mary Lou Biage, also survive Betty. She was a graduate of Westville High School and St. Elizabeth Nursing School. She worked as a Registered Nurse at former St. Elizabeth Hospital, Colonial Manor Nursing Home, and later retired from the Danville VA Medical Center, She was a member of the Red Hat Society, St. Elizabeth Nurses Alumni, the Illiana Organizers, volunteering at the CRISS Center, and was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville. Betty cherished spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies included cooking for her family, playing Bunco, reading, and her love for animals. She also enjoyed spending her time with her little buddy "Gizmo" which was always by her side. A Celebration of Life Service for Betty J. Stark is scheduled for 11:00am on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville, with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Father Timothy Sauppe` has been asked by the family to officiate her service. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9am until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Betty's name to the ASPCA and/or Carle Hospice.
