Betty J. Rutan

Betty J. Rutan, 78, of Bismarck, passed away at 7:10 PM Sunday April 2, 2006 at Colonial Manor in Danville. Mrs. Rutan was born December 14, 1927 in Allerton, Illinois to Walter H. and Doris E. (Ogg) Johnson. She married Lee Allen Rutan, Sr. December 1, 1946 in Bismarck. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1990. Betty is survived by two sons, Allen (Susan) Rutan and George (Lill) Rutan, four daughters, Patricia (Steven) Schackman, Kathie (Ken) Britt, Martha (Dean) Jones, and Connie (Leonard) Huffman, seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, one brother Bill (Cate) Johnson, and one sister, JoAnn (Bob) Day. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Mildred Goff and Thelma Brash. Betty was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and playing cards. She treasured being with her family and dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Living on the farm was very precious to her.
